Delicious Chocolate Mint Energy Bar


If you are craving something sweet while avoiding added sugars and processed ingredients, this recipe is PERFECT. It is vegan, gluten free, added sugar free & packed with a lot goodness. This also makes a great post workout snack to replenish glycogen storage while maintaining blood sugar stability.

Dates are high in fiber,contain 15 minerals, including selenium, an element believed to help prevent cancer and important in immune function; contains 23 types of amino acids; and unsaturated fatty acids.

Cacao nibs are rich in iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, manganese & copper. Magnesium is a mineral needed for over 300 different enzyme reactions in your body but is lacking in many people's diets.


Without further ado, here is the recipe 

Serving size  12 balls 
Ingredients: 


    • 1/2 cup

      Pitted Dates
    • 1/2 cup

      Almonds (raw)
    • 2 tbsps

      Cacao Powder
    • 1 tbsp

      Cacao Nibs
    • 1/8 tsp

      Sea Salt
    • 1/2 tsp

      Peppermint Extract
    • 1 tbsp

      Water
    • Directions: 
      1. Add the dates, almonds, cacao powder, cacao nibs, sea salt and peppermint extract to the bowl of a food processor. While the food processor is running stream in the water. Run the food processor until the date mixture forms a ball.
      2. Form the mixture into small balls with your hands and enjoy!
      3. You can store in the fridge up to five days, or in the freezer for up to three months. Keeping them in freezer or fridge right before eating them will help reduce the sticky consistency.
